TEAC AX-505 Stereo Integrated Amplifier<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The AX-505 is a compact stereo integrated amplifier with an output power of 115W + 115W, requiring only an A4-sized footprint.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the power amplifier section, we’ve used a cool-running and energy-efficient option: a TEACtuned Ncore module from Hypex in the Netherlands. Its clear sound with low distortion and a high signal-to-noise ratio reproduces hi-res audio content with true dynamics and musical verve. Furthermore, the AX-505 also offers high-quality headphone output via an integrated headphone amplifier that supports a grounded connection. <\/span><\/p>\n

The two prominent level meters on the front of the device are more of an aesthetic feature than a functional necessity, but they do indicate the music volume as it rises or falls. A well-damped volume control with a milled aluminum knob for precise volume adjustment makes operation even more pleasant. Passive cooling ensures completely silent operation, allowing the listener to focus on their music without being distracted by annoying fan noise. <\/span><\/p>\n

The AX-505 is based on a powerful, energy-efficient Hypex Ncore power amplifier module, delivering 115W + 115W output power from a small unit. This is not a standard Ncore module… it has been meticulously tuned by TEAC to deliver maximum musical expression across the entire spectrum of musical repertoire. <\/span><\/p>\n

Carefully selected components, developed exclusively for hi-fi applications<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

From the MUSE operational amplifiers in the analog section – which fundamentally determine the sound quality of the amplifier – to the volume controls with conductor resistors, our engineers have carefully selected all the important components, wherever possible, from “made for hi-fi” series.<\/span><\/p>\n

Symmetrical XLR inputs<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

The AX-505 is equipped with a pair of balanced XLR analog audio inputs, which help to minimize external interference picked up along the path of the analog audio signal via the connecting cable.<\/span><\/p>\n

CCLC headphone amplifier circuit for maximum linearity<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

The AX-505 also features a 4-pole headphone output jack that supports a ground-isolated connection for excellent channel separation when listening with headphones. The headphone amplifier’s CCLC (Coupling Capacitor-less Circuit) design eliminates coupling capacitors in the output stage. This reduces coloration during processing, delivering a more authentic audio signal to your headphones. <\/span><\/p>\n

A high-capacity toroidal transformer<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

The AX-505 features a high-capacitance toroidal transformer and Schottky barrier diodes in the rectifier circuit. The advantage of Schottky barrier diodes over conventional types is that they deliver a cleaner and more stable current and reduce rectifier noise throughout the amplifier circuit. <\/span><\/p>\n

Passive cooling for quiet operation<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

It makes no sense for an amplifier to deliver excellent sound to the speakers but simultaneously generate annoying operating noise from a fan. Therefore, our engineers paid special attention to the circuit and chassis design of the AX-505 and developed a component layout that allows for natural heat dissipation. <\/span><\/p>\n

All-metal housing for rigidity, stability, and elegance<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Not only is the front panel firmly attached to the robust steel internal chassis, but the top and side panels are also securely connected to it. This high construction standard helps to reduce mechanical vibrations caused by heavy components. Thanks to its compact design with a footprint the size of an A4 sheet of paper, the AX-505 fits even in the smallest modern spaces. <\/span><\/p>\n

Multiple inputs for maximum versatility<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

On the rear panel, the terminals are spaced far apart to accommodate interconnect cables with bulky connectors. Three analog RCA inputs allow you to build a full-fledged hi-fi system, even if you initially use the AX-505 as part of a relatively minimalist desktop PC audio setup. The AX-505 also features a set of screw-type speaker terminals with wide spacing and diagonal offset (for easy wiring), to which high-quality AWG8 cables and banana plugs can be connected. <\/span><\/p>\n

User-friendly interface for easy operation<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

The AX-505 features a volume control knob made of milled aluminum for precise volume adjustment, while a classic toggle switch is used to turn the amplifier on and off, providing better tactile feedback. The remote control, which is covered in a luxurious aluminum casing, allows volume adjustment in 0.5dB increments at moderate volume levels. <\/span><\/p>\n

Two level meters that track the pulse of your music<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Two level meters that dance in time with the changing volume add a visual dimension to your music while enhancing the amplifier’s aesthetic appeal. A 4-stage dimmer, which can deactivate the level meters or further emphasize the movement (by increasing sensitivity by +20 dB), can be selected according to preference.
