Hifiman Jade II System Open electrostatic headphones with amplifier
The Hifiman Jade II system, consisting of headphones and amplifier, is a worthy successor to the popular Jade of the first series. The nanometer-thin membrane and the open design deliver an enveloping, natural sound image with an extended sound stage, so that instruments and voices sound precisely separated and can be precisely located in the room.
The Nanotech driver and the nanoparticle-coated membrane ensure almost distortion-free playback with lightning-fast response times and a wide frequency response. Compared to conventional “moving coil” headphones, the Jade II offer a very transparent and spacious sound image. The sealed housing with the honeycomb stainless steel frame eliminates unwanted vibrations and ensures unadulterated and precise reproduction. Nanometer-thin dust covers prevent dust and other contaminants from settling and distortion caused by electrostatic dust. They also give the headphones an impressive, unique look.
The accompanying electrostatic amplifier, made of lightweight black aluminium, uses a dual operational amplifier and a carefully designed circuit board that minimizes interference to achieve a particularly transparent, precise sound.
The front panel features an on/off switch, a massive 21-position volume control, and two 5-pin electrostatic headphone outputs for connecting Jade II headphones. There is an RCA audio input and a balanced 3-pin XLR input on the rear of the amplifier.
At 365 grams, the Jade II headphones are lightweight in their class. The aluminum alloy frame that holds the soft ear pads and a size-adjustable leather headband ensure a comfortable and fatigue-free fit, even over long periods of time.
