Magnetar UDP800 MKII Black

Magnetar UDP800 MKII (Black) Universal Disc Player with support for Blu-ray and SACD

The Magnetar UDP800 MKII is the consistently further developed and modernized version of the multi-award-winning UDP800. Its predecessor was awarded the prestigious EISA Award for Best Home Cinema Disc Player at the end of 2023. With targeted improvements in audio processing, signal transmission, and connectivity, the UDP800 MKII builds on this success.

Although numerous streaming services now offer movies and series in impressive quality up to 4K UHD, physical media still offer advantages in many cases. Blu-ray and UHD Blu-ray discs are often superior to most streaming content, especially in terms of image sharpness, depth of field, and detail precision. This makes the Magnetar UDP800 MKII the ideal choice for discerning enthusiasts of high-quality image and sound media.

Advanced image and audio processing

High-quality copper conductors are used throughout the device to ensure reliable signal transmission. The connectors on the circuit boards have also been upgraded to high-quality components from JST and Amphenol. This increases the stability and reliability of the internal connections and underscores the high-quality construction of the UDP800 MKII.

Outstanding audio and video quality

A key innovation is the integration of TMDS retiming technology directly into the motherboard’s HDMI audio port. This reduces signal-related jitter and ensures more stable signal transmission. The result is optimized HDMI audio quality with detailed, precise, and vibrant sound reproduction.

Improved compatibility and USB connectivity

The USB 3.0 section has been further developed with an optimized hub chip and a revised power supply. This improves compatibility and operational reliability when connecting USB flash drives and external hard drives.

At the same time, users benefit from more stable and faster data transmission, which supports reliable playback of high-quality image and sound content.

High-quality operational amplifiers

The redesigned stereo audio boards are equipped with seven OPA1602 operational amplifiers. These are characterized by particularly low inherent noise, which reduces audio distortion and allows for precise reproduction of the finest sound details.

The high signal accuracy enables clear, natural and detailed playback at an audiophile level.

Roon Ready

Thanks to the Roon Ready certification, the UDP800 MKII can be automatically integrated into an existing Roon system without complex configuration.

Combined with Roon’s versatile, cross-platform music platform, the player becomes a powerful and flexible network audio source. Easy setup and a reliable connection provide convenient access to high-quality digital music playback.
