Audio Physic Midex
Performance and elegance in perfect harmony: the new MIDEX
Audio Physic presents the new Midex. For the first time, this award-winning loudspeaker is equipped with the revolutionary PowerTrain technology, including the new HHCM SL midrange driver.
Audio Physic MIDEX – this starts with the arrangement of the speaker drivers in the front: the two powerful woofers are not arranged together at the bottom edge of the baffle as usual, but instead take the tweeter and midrange driver into their center.
This arrangement helps to reduce uncontrolled excitation of the listening room in the bass range, thus ensuring greater precision in the reproduction of low frequencies.
The MIDEX’s cabinet is constructed using our proven sandwich design, with numerous open-cell ceramic foam elements serving as internal stiffeners. This expensive, high-tech material consists of approximately 85% air. The load-bearing foam structure forms a substance almost as hard as diamond. Ceramic foam is lightweight yet extremely rigid, and its large surface area acts as a diffuser for rearward-radiated sound. This material allows us to simultaneously reinforce and dampen the speaker cabinet without sacrificing valuable cabinet volume. The MIDEX is certainly not a small speaker, but thanks to the ceramic foam, its acoustics are considerably larger than they appear from the outside.
Furthermore, the MIDEX is constructed using our new honeycomb sandwich material, which we first used in our then flagship STRUCTURE speaker. With comparable stability, it is significantly less resonant and lighter than the commonly used MDF. The partially open honeycomb structure, in turn, helps to optimize the acoustically effective volume of the enclosure.
The MIDEX also benefits from numerous pioneering Audio Physic technologies, such as the vibration-damping decoupling of the crossover and connection terminal. The latter is also equipped with high-quality nextgen® binding posts from WBT.
The MIDEX features the new HHCM SL midrange driver and the third-generation HHCT tweeter, the same drivers used in the CODEX. This modern architecture effectively reduces resonances, resulting in an incomparably pure and open sound reproduction. For easy setup and secure placement on any surface, the MIDEX boasts a stable crossbar construction, similar to that used in our CODEX. The crossbars are equipped with an M8 thread and can therefore be upgraded with the VCF V M8 Magnetic Plus feet. Their innovative design allows for noticeably improved imaging and reproduction authenticity, while also protecting delicate floors from scratches. Sonically, the MIDEX’s versatility leaves nothing to be desired, and its appearance is equally impressive: it is available as standard in various high-gloss wood and high-gloss glass finishes and can be optionally fitted with glass panels in virtually any color.
