The new 9000 series from audiolab represents a new standard in home audio for music lovers. As the CD remains the medium of choice for many audiophiles, the 9000CDT is a premium device that combines digital music playback with that of the audiolab 9000A. The 9000CDT is a special CD transporter with a high-end mechanism, developed according to the standards of the audiolab performance philosophy.
Joining audiolab’s long list of award-winning CD players, the 9000CDT uses a high-precision optical system with an electronic data acquisition system for accurate and seamless CD playback. The read-ahead digital buffer reduces read errors and helps the 9000CDT play scratched and damaged CDs that are no longer readable with conventional mechanisms.
To ensure that the associated DAC receives a pristine signal, the 9000CDT’s coaxial output is fed by a differential line driver. The main clock is controlled by a high-precision crystal oscillator, so the digital output has negligible jitter (digital distortion) on both the coaxial and optical sockets.
The 9000CDT’s low-friction loading drawer, rugged aluminum base and chassis counteract the vibrations caused by the mechanics of a high-speed motor. In addition, the transport is housed in its own electromagnetically shielded housing with its own power supply. All of this contributes to exemplary digital signal extraction, while proven resonance reduction further improves performance and routing in hi-fi equipment and signal chains.
As well as class-leading CD playback, the 9000CDT also offers the ability to stream digital music via a dedicated USB (Type A) port on the rear of the unit. All major high-resolution and lossless audio formats are supported, including WAV, AAC and WMA, as well as the compressed MP3 formats.
The 9000CDT features a 4.3-inch IPS LCD display with a detailed yet easy-to-use user interface that vividly displays information such as system settings, format, folders, track details and other data.
