AudioQuest NRG-Y3 Low Distortion 3-Pin Power Cable

THE CHALLENGE: No matter how perfect an AC power source may be, distortion occurs in every AC power cable. Even the most sophisticated filters and power supplies cannot eliminate this transient intermodulation distortion (TIM) because the induced RF noise modulates the low-level audio/video signal.

THE SOLUTION: NRG-Y3 cables use directional long-grain copper (LGC) strands in a semi-solid concentric conductor arrangement where the strands are more densely packed and never change position within the bundle. This design significantly reduces strand interaction distortion. The greater purity and less complicated grain structure within LGC copper further reduces distortion.

Additionally, the NRG-Y3’s directional silver-plated shield conductors efficiently dissipate RF interference from the line and neutral shields to ground via the third “ground” pin. The result is powerful, dynamic and impressive!

Long-Grain Copper (LGC) reduces distortion caused by the presence of grain boundaries in any metal conductor.

ZERO-TECH (NO DEFINED CHARACTERISTIC IMPEDANCE)

While many AC cables have low DC resistance to accommodate high current demands, a cable’s characteristic impedance is also critical for optimal performance. Unlike most AC cables, which constrict or compress a sound-induced transient, AudioQuest AC cables combine low DC resistance and zero characteristic impedance (no characteristic impedance) to deliver uncompressed transients when needed.
