It is the veteran and the oldest series from Canton: our Ergo is the epitome of a classic hi-fi loudspeaker with noble ingredients and noble appearance. It has never changed its character over the years and yet the Canton Ergo is up to date. It is constantly being optimized by our developers and constantly equipped with the latest technologies. The timelessly elegant construction scores with the best technical components, its unmistakable design with high-quality real wood veneer and distinctive aluminum front panels and the incomparably good Canton sound. State-of-the-art: its technology
In a horizontal D’Appolito arrangement, the two powerful 174 mm bass and bass-midrange drivers in the bass reflex housing ensure powerful and precise basses as well as neutral and clearly structured middle pitches. The perfect complement comes from our brilliant 25 mm aluminum manganese dome, which is a tried and tested guarantee of euphony with its detailed and excellently resolved treble reproduction. Thanks to the two-and-a-half-way construction principle, the center delivers a balanced frequency response with excellent radiation characteristics for your home cinema: the Ergo 655 center is in its element from 26 to 40,000 Hertz. The speaker is very solidly constructed, has several internal reinforcements and is equipped with high-quality internal wiring. The sound of the Ergo 655 Center is finely tuned by selected crossover components and the strategically placed damping of the housing. All of these measures make the center speaker, which is 53 centimeters wide, 20.5 centimeters high and 28.5 centimeters deep, weigh a confidence-inspiring 13 kilograms.

It’s all about the details
Like all our loudspeakers, the Ergo 655 Center is manufactured in our factory in Weilrod im Taunus. This is how we maintain the necessary quality standards, minimize tolerances, eliminate any errors and meet the high sound requirements of our loudspeakers. The Ergo loudspeaker models are refined by hand in numerous work steps and at the end of the production they shine in timeless elegance – optionally in the noble real wood veneer variants “Cherry”, “Wenge” or “Ash”. The high-quality aluminum front grille gives the Ergo 655 Center its own characteristic face. If necessary, it can be removed to reveal the velvet-lined baffle. 24 carat gold-plated, stable screw terminals ensure optimal and long-term stable signal transmission.
