It is the veteran and the oldest series from Canton: our Ergo is the epitome of a classic hi-fi loudspeaker with noble ingredients and noble appearance. It has never changed its character over the years and yet the Canton Ergo is up to date. It is constantly being optimized by our developers and constantly equipped with the latest technologies. The timelessly elegant construction scores with the best technical components, its unmistakable design with high-quality real wood veneer and distinctive aluminum front panels and the incomparably good Canton sound. The 3-way bass reflex floorstanding loudspeakers impress with excellent sound properties and are suitable for all styles of music thanks to their balance.

State-of-the-art: its technology
In addition to their classic elegance, the Ergo 690 DC are characterized by their high degree of technical sophistication: the well-engineered and tried-and-tested aluminium-manganese tweeters and high-quality aluminum midrange and woofers ensure an accurate sound with impressive dynamic capabilities. The loudspeakers are very solidly built, reinforced several times on the inside and equipped with high-quality internal wiring. In addition, the strategically placed damping of the housing and selected crossover components ensure the tonal optimization of the 24-kilogram floorstanding speakers. Two 192 mm woofers with light and stiff aluminum membranes, powerful drives and triple folded wave surrounds ensure powerful and precise bass with enormous depth in the large housing volume. The 174 mm midrange specialist, with its large cone surface and suspension in our patented wave surround, is a dynamic and always confident playing partner. It sits at the top of the baffle in its own, optimally dimensioned housing volume. Together with the well-engineered 25 mm dome tweeter, the Ergo 690 DC spoil their listeners with an enormously balanced sound and the exact, spatial representation of the musical events.

Attention to detail
Like all of our loudspeakers, we also manufacture the Ergo 690 DC in our factory in Weilrod im Taunus. This is how we maintain the necessary quality standards, minimize tolerances, eliminate any errors and meet the high sound requirements of our loudspeakers. The Ergo loudspeaker models are refined by hand in numerous work steps – this is how these loudspeakers shine in timeless elegance at the end of production. The 3-way floorstanding loudspeakers are available in the real wood veneer variants “Cherry”, “Wenge” and “Ash”. The high-quality aluminum front grille gives the Ergo models their own distinctive face. Thanks to the front-firing bass reflex system, the loudspeakers can be set up close to the wall without any problems. With these floor-standing loudspeakers, the high and mid-range can be controlled separately from the low-frequency range using bi-wiring/bi-amping. 24 carat gold-plated, stable screw terminals ensure optimal signal transmission. And the DC technology developed by Canton ensures tight and precise bass, even at the highest sound levels.
