Grado Labs RS-2X – high-end headphones
The redesigned RS-2X is a nimble but unflinching headphone that breaks new ground for the Reference series with its marriage of maple wood and hemp wood.
The RS-2X is practically the little brother of the RS-1X. The mahogany body and air chamber have been made slightly smaller, while the tonal characteristics of the RS-1X are almost completely preserved: a warm, natural and harmonious sound that reproduces voices with full body, and velvety, expansive highs stand firmly on top of a stupendously deep and clear defined bass foundation. Together with an astonishingly realistic dynamics that we only know from live concerts, these two GRADO models become nothing more than an audiophile dream.
A family favorite, the RS-2X has been completely redesigned to exploit the full potential of its maple and hemp wood. The shell and ring of the case are made of maple, while a hemp core holds everything together. We’ve used wood for decades for its warm and expansive tonal qualities, and the RS2x is an exceptional evolution of the RS2 line.
