The EVO3 Ascension consists of OCC (Ohno continuous cast) silver-plated copper conductors cryogenized at extremely low temperatures, surrounded by an air dielectric with partial FEP contact before another sleeve of extruded FEP encloses the structure. Each of these individual conductor bundles is wrapped with Mylar foil and another OFC shield, and then lightly twisted with air-filled FEP tubes. In this way, the EVO3 Ascension reduces the noise floor to an absolute minimum and provides the musical action with a holographic image, more air and space, and unparalleled fine dynamics.

CONSTRUCTION: The conductors run parallel and are slightly twisted. This established technique has proven to be an effective shield against high-frequency and electromagnetic interference.

A) Conductors: 4.0 m² silver plated Ohno continuous cast copper conductors offer a much higher degree of purity compared to conventional OFC. Each conductor is cryogenically treated down to -196 ° C. The geometry and metallurgy used in this cable provide excellent performance with extremely impressive electrical conductivity.

B) Dielectric: To obtain a dielectric constant close to a vacuum, IsoTek created a virtual air dielectric with a dielectric constant as low as 1.0548. This air barrier is achieved through minimal conductor contact and the use of an FEP (Teflon) bridge. FEP is an excellent dielectric in its own right, with low coefficient and the first choice for safety both in terms of temperature and electrical insulation.

C) Insert: Clear FEP air tubes (Teflon) surround each conductor and ensure low dielectric constant and cable structure stability.

D) Wrapping: Each conductor assembly is wrapped in Mylar to provide individual conductor shielding as well as a further barrier against radio interference.

E) Shielding: Grounded OFC shielding ensures maximum RFI suppression, preventing common mode interference affecting the live and neutral conductors.

F) Jacket: PVC is used as outer jacket to ensure high level of flexibility and mechanical strength.

CONNECTORS: The Ascension cable is assembled with IsoTek’s ultra-high quality audiophile grade silver plated 99.98% copper connectors.
