The Quintet Black S is adorned with a Nude Shibata diamond, considered one of the finest needle profiles available, mounted on a high-performance sapphire support.
The Shibata’s slim, highly polished profile allows for an extremely large contact area with the groove walls, ensuring detailed and pure reproduction across the entire spectrum, including high-frequency groove information.
The MC Quintet series is in line with Ortofon’s tireless commitment to the most precise and accurate reproduction possible without coloring:

A special PC thermoplastic material is used to manufacture the case. This lightweight, impact-resistant material is very suitable for injection molding and provides a very durable, scratch-resistant surface.

To achieve optimal performance, neodymium magnets are used.

Due to the low internal impedance, the pickup is less load sensitive and therefore ensures compatibility with a wide variety of preamplifiers and transformers.
