This harmoniously proportioned smart speaker ideally expands our Smart Vento 9 S2 floorstanding speaker and Smart Vento 3 S2 compact speaker into a high-quality multi-channel home cinema system. Its modern design with gently curved side walls, housing radii of different thicknesses and the flawless surfaces, optionally available as a high-gloss finish in black and white or real walnut veneer, make the Smart Vento 5 S2 Center an object of desire. With 350 watts of power from the active module, the 3-way center offers very high dynamics and convenient power reserves. The finest technical ingredients such as the newly developed drivers with titanium graphite membranes, the 24-bit signal processing of the loudspeaker and the excellent workmanship of the solidly constructed housing allow our Center Smart Vento 5 S2 to play really well in terms of sound – perfect for the center of any home cinema.

Rich equipment
The engineers in the development laboratory have put a lot of effort into our current Smart Vento S2 model series. A new loudspeaker chassis was developed to improve the technical properties and thus further increase the sound quality and fidelity. The result of the efforts are acoustically excellent drivers with membranes made of titanium graphite. The matt shimmering membranes of the bass and bass-midrange speakers have a low weight and work without any partial vibrations that damage the sound in their entire useful and transmission range. The technical improvements were achieved through a complex chemical process in which the previously used titanium drivers are converted – optically and technically. Thanks to the use of the new Titanium Graphite drivers, the Smart Vento 5 S2 sound both relaxed and dynamic.

In the stately three-way bass reflex center speaker Smart Vento 5 S2, a top-class team of woofers, mid-range drivers and tweeters bears the musical responsibility. The bass specialist in 174 mm format with a double cone membrane made of titanium graphite delivers precise, deep bass. In the mids, a midrange driver of the same size acts in its own volume, which also benefits from the excellent sound and material properties of our titanium graphite membranes. The suspension in the wave surrounds, which are capable of the highest deflections, ensures high resilience and excellent dynamics in the bass and midrange. In addition, the light and stiff membranes follow acoustic signals quickly and precisely. Our high-quality tweeter with a 25 mm membrane made of aluminum oxide ceramics is particularly accurate, brilliant and detailed. Its transmission front plate ensures ideal sound radiation.

The housing of the fully active Smart Vento 5 S2 center is harmoniously proportioned and impresses with its revised housing design, which makes the loudspeaker more modern and elegant. But at Canton, also the housings have to meet the high technical requirements of the developers – after all, a pretty appearance doesn’t make a good sound. The solid housing made of multi-layer laminate, the changed housing radii and the slightly modified dimensions compared to the predecessor create the best acoustic conditions for a precise sound pattern. An increased internal volume is now available, which makes it possible to tune the 3-way center with more bandwidth in the bass. Furthermore, the new design minimizes the impact of the housing itself on the sound. Multiple layers of high-gloss paint with a perfect surface finish, the screwless integration of the drivers into the baffle with diamond-cut aluminum rings and an ovalised, magnetically adhesive fabric cover make the Center Smart Vento 5 S2 a true premium loudspeaker with a stylish, modern appearance.

In order to be able to connect players directly to our speakers, we extensively equip the active module: analog sources are connected to the high-quality XLR and cinch sockets. There is also the option of digitally connecting devices via optical and coaxial cables. The smart loudspeaker communicates with computers via the excellent-sounding USB-XMOS interface.
