Thanks to its woven fiberglass diaphragm, the powerful mid-bass driver of the CLASSIC 3 remains composed even at high volume levels. Sound-distorting partial vibrations of the diaphragm, the so-called “breakup” in certain frequency ranges, are not an issue with this material. At the same time, the diaphragm is light enough to reproduce even fast impulses with clarity and precision.

The fixed phase plug reduces compression effects in mid-frequencies and contributes to cooling the high-performance drive.

The CLASSIC 3’s tweeter features a silk dome and sits in a horn-like recess, the shape of which optimizes the dispersion pattern in the transition between midrange and treble frequencies. The result is a wide, open, and precise spatial imaging, even for listening positions slightly outside the so-called sweet spot.

No compromises were made in the design of the crossover network for the CLASSIC 3 either.

As is typical for a loudspeaker from Audio Physic, the CLASSIC 3’s cabinet is extremely solid and crafted to the highest standards. Like the CLASSIC 8, it features a very narrow baffle, which on the one hand prevents unwanted reflections of the sound radiated by the driver and on the other hand gives the compact bookshelf speaker a visually understated appearance.

For perfect sound in every situation, we recommend the Audio Physic VCF II PLUS COMPONENT or VCF II MAGNETIC PLUS COMPONENT. These optional Vibration Control Feet protect sensitive surfaces, decouple the speaker from the surface, and thus noticeably enhance the sound performance of the CLASSIC 3.
