USB flash drive recording and playback supported

In addition to recording CDs, cassettes, and external input devices to USB flash drives (as MP3 files), CDs and MP3 files from USB flash drives and external input devices can also be recorded to cassette tapes. The recorded files are saved in automatically created folders on the USB flash drives, depending on the source (CD, LINE, or TAPE), allowing for easy digital-to-analog conversion without a computer.

Built-in microphone input

A microphone input jack is built into the front of the device, allowing you to record directly from a connected microphone. You can also mix in the microphone signal when playing and recording from CDs, cassettes, and USB drives.
* Microphone audio cannot be recorded when recording from a CD to a USB stick.

Echo effect

The sound from the connected microphone can be enhanced with an echo effect. The switch on the front panel lets you adjust the effect to two levels or turn it off completely. With the AD-850-SE and a microphone, you can easily enjoy karaoke.
* For karaoke you also need a separate amplifier and speakers.

Explanation regarding the echo
In this process, reverberation is added to the original sound. The original sound is repeated with varying delays and damping to create an almost natural reverberation, similar to that found in a hall or studio.

The cassette deck has all the important functions.

The cassette deck uses a two-head, single-ended design for recording and playback. It supports standard, chrome-plated, and metallic (playback only) cassette tapes. This model offers all essential functions, including pitch control with an adjustment range of +/-10% and timer recording and playback.

The CD player supports CD-R/RW discs and the playback of MP3 files.

In addition to audio CDs, the CD player can also play CD-R/RW discs containing MP3 files. During MP3 playback, information such as ID3 tags and filenames* is displayed. The various playback modes include program, shuffle, and repeat (one track, all tracks, or program).
* File name display supports half-width English letters and numbers (single-byte characters). Names using full-width characters (double-byte characters), including Japanese, may not display correctly.

Extensive recording and playback functions for USB sticks

The repeat function can be used in conjunction with various other playback modes, such as continuous, random, and scheduled. The synchronized start function, which automatically begins playback of the audio source (CD or tape), makes recording to USB flash drives much easier.
