Van den Hul The D-102 III 3T Hybrid RCA 2 x 1.0 meters
Given our continuous technological advancements, it is only logical to replace the D-102 series, available since 1982 (after 24 upgrades), with a true hybrid version. Along with our Linear Structured Carbon® technology, we have therefore integrated some strands of our highly acclaimed 3T technology into the new D-102 III 3T Hybrid.
The D-102 III 3T Hybrid is a highly flexible, symmetrical interconnect cable in warm yellow-orange with three-layer shielding.
The two inner conductors consist of 40 dense, high-purity, silver-coated strands made of high-quality Matched Crystal (MC) OFC. An additional layer saturated with Linear Structured Carbon® (LSC) is located above each inner conductor. This additional LSC layer significantly improves signal transmission quality by forming electrical bridges at the micro level and converting the external magnetic field near the conductors back into an electrical signal.
Four 3T conductors were used for the circuit. 3T (True Transmission Technology) offers significantly higher resolution and detail than all previously used metal technologies.
The resistance of each inner conductor is 5.5 ohms/100 meters.
The capacitance between the two inner conductors is very low at 37 pF/meter. In symmetrical operation, the total losses and phase shift remain very low, even in circuits with relatively high impedance.
In unbalanced operation, the two inner conductors can simply be joined together, with the shield serving as the signal return path. However, the better and preferred design (which we use) involves connecting the shield to signal ground only on the signal source side (indicated by a sticker with the grounding mark). One of the inner conductors then serves as the signal return path.
